The Electric Barn, Inc. was founded in 1990 by a former Electrical Contractor and Master Electrician, who still runs the business today.

He saw a need for purchasing competitively priced, safe, and reliable obsolete electrical equipment to gain an advantage over his competitors, and founded The Electric Barn with this business model in mind.

The Electric Barn offers a wide range of new, used and reconditioned electrical equipment. We have our own reconditioning and testing facility as well as 60,000 sq. ft warehouse filled with inventory.

The Electric Barn Terms & Conditions

SHIPPING:

All orders are shipped within 1 or 2 business days upon receipt of payment. All orders are shipped regular ground, unless other arrangements have been made (overnight, next day etc.).

All orders will ship via FedEx, UPS, or USPS and are billed to the customer. All large orders and items over 150 lbs. will ship via freight carrier - please provide business name and address.

If setting up your own freight, please note, it is at your own expense and liability.

All international shipping requests are to be arranged through buyer.

PAYMENT:

Payment in full is expected before the item is shipped. Net 30 is offered upon credit approval. Interest of 1.5% per month may be charged on all past due payments. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and PayPal from all customers. Wire transfers may be accepted for payments in excess of $5000.00.

RETURNS:

All returns are subject to prior approval. Customers must contact The Electric Barn, Inc. to obtain an RGA (Return Goods Authorization) number. The RGA number must be written on the box or packing slip in order for the return to be processed. Returns can be made for any reason within 30 days from the shipping date of the item. Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer unless other arrangements have been made. Money for items damaged in shipping will not be refunded. Once inspected by an authorized representative of the company and the product is found to be in the same condition sent, a company credit or refund will be given. Non-warranty related returns may be subject to a 25% restocking fee.

Returns made under an Electric Barn Warranty Policy are subject to additional conditions as outlined in the warranty.

The Electric Barn Warranty Policy

One Year Warranty - All New Reconditioned and/or Reconditioned with Test Report

Warranty will extend for a period of 1 year from the date the item is shipped, during which time the product will operate satisfactorily under nameplate rated load and normal usage and conditions, after proper installation. Should the product fail during the warranty period, the buyer shall return the product to the seller, at the buyer’s expense, for inspection and verification of warranty claim. Should the warranty claim be deemed valid, The Electric Barn will replace the item with equal value or refund the buyer the full purchase price of the product. If product is repaired or replaced under warranty, the new warranty period will extend for one year from the shipping date of the repaired or replaced product.

90 Day Warranty - All Used, and Listings Sold as Warranty Item

Warranty will extend for a period of 90 days from the date the item is shipped, during which time the product will operate satisfactorily under nameplate rated load and normal usage and conditions, after proper installation. Should the product fail during the warranty period, the buyer shall return the product to the seller, at the buyer’s expense, for inspection and verification of warranty claim. Should the warranty claim be deemed valid, The Electric Barn will replace the item with equal value or refund the buyer the full purchase price of the product. If product is repaired or replaced under warranty, the new warranty period will extend for 90 days from the shipping date of the repaired or replaced product.

Some Items - Sold as USED/AS IS - with no warranty

The Electric Barn Product Conditions

NEW: The product is a new, unused item in its original factory packaging and is subject to a 1 year warranty.

NEW / UNUSED SURPLUS: The product is a new, unused item that may or may not have its original packaging. The item has never been put into service and is subject to a 1 year warranty.

NEW TAKE OUT: The product is a new, unused item that may have been previously installed in electrical equipment but has never been energized and is subject to a 1 year warranty.

RECONDITIONED: The product is cleaned, inspected, found to be free of damage (burns, chips, cracks, etc.), fully functional, EOK, MOK and the labels are intact or replaced. Item may also be painted, relabeled and have new parts installed as necessary. Reconditioned electrical equipment comes with an insulation resistance test and a 1 year warranty.

EOK: Electrically OK

MOK: Mechanically OK

RECONDITIONED CIRCUIT BREAKERS WITH TEST REPORT: Reconditioned circuit breakers have been previously energized. They are cleaned, lugs examined, inspected and found to be free of damage (burns, chips, cracks, etc.) The labels are intact or replaced. Circuit breakers are opened, if possible, cleaned and examined, tested for contact resistance, subject to an insulation resistance test, a primary injection test and come with a complete test report verifying this equipment meets or exceeds factory specifications and is EOK and MOK. Reconditioned circuit breakers are subject to a 1 year warranty.

RECONDITIONED CIRCUIT BREAKERS WITH WARRANTY: Used circuit breakers have been previously energized and have been removed. They are cleaned, lugs examined, inspected and found to be free of damage (burns, chips, cracks, etc.) and the labels are intact. The breakers are opened, if possible, cleaned, examined, tested for contact resistance, subject to a make and break test and found to be EOK, MOK. Used circuit breakers are subject to a 90 day warranty, unless otherwise noted.

USED WITH WARRANTY: All used electrical equipment is cleaned, inspected and found to be free of damage (burns, chips, cracks, etc.), is fully functional, EOK, MOK. Labels are intact, not replaced, may be scratched or blemished. Used electrical equipment is subject to an insulation resistance test, unless otherwise noted, and carry a 90 day warranty.

USED CIRCUIT BREAKERS WITH WARRANTY: Used circuit breakers have been previously energized and have been removed. They are cleaned, lugs examined, inspected and found to be free of damage (burns, chips, cracks, etc.) and the labels are intact. The breakers are opened, if possible, cleaned, examined, tested for contact resistance, subject to a make and break test and found to be EOK, MOK. Used circuit breakers are subject to a 90 day warranty, unless otherwise noted.

USED / AS IS: Items are tested to be EOK, MOK, if possible, and may be sold with no warranty.
